Introduction to Nanbu Town

Nanbu Town, Saiboku Gun

Nanbu Town, with a population of 10,000, is adjacent to Yonago City, the second-largest city in Tottori Prefecture. In 2015, the entire town was designated as an Important Satoyama and Satoumi area by the Ministry of the Environment. The town is characterized by houses with red-tiled roofs.

Minami-saihaku Area

Minami-Saihaku is a cluster of villages near the mountainous area that once thrived with tatara (traditional iron smelting). You can still see remnants of tatara in the fields, such as "kera" and "kuzu-iron."

 Ryokusui Lake, an 8 km circumference reservoir created by a dam, is located nearby. The area around the lake features bungalows and cycling courses.
